Skull and Cactus Cake - Southwestern Style-Cake Decorating

3D Cake Designs in Buttercream can be fun and easy. This Skull and Cactus Design is great for guys who like to hunt or just a Southwestern Fan. The Skull is built on cake as well as some of the Cactus.

I used only 3 Decorating Tips for this Design. A coupler, a Quick Icing Tip and a #124 Rose Tip. So nothing special needed.

Hydrangea Flowers in Buttercream

Hydrangea is basically many little flowers together making one big flower. This is the progression of how I figured out how to make them in buttercream for this large Birthday Cake!
Here's the video that shows my process :

I love the way the Hydrangea's looked on this cake topper.

The final look turned out really pretty. I was pleased with the overall balance. The color scheme worked out well too.

This was the test cake to see how these colors and flowers would work together and to see if this was the scroll work I wanted to use.
This was the first test done on a small bowl.

Fire Truck Cake

This Fire Truck In Butter Cream looks Deceptively Simple. It is a Chocolate Cake Baked on a Half Sheet Sized Cookie Sheet then Cut on Three Sections and Stacked and Filled to get the height. The Tricky Part Is all the Straight Lines and Angles. The Ladders wheels, and Window Details are Made of Candy Melt. The rest is Figure Piped.
