Santa and Elves on Waffle Cone Cakes- Cake Decorating- Video

This fun little design came out of the idea of baking cake inside a waffle cone! Each character is iced in Buttercream with it's face and clothes figure piped on. The icing on the platter is Royal Icing to hold the characters in place. See the entire video here.

This worked great to hold the cones up while being filled and baked!

Skull and Cactus Cake - Southwestern Style-Cake Decorating

3D Cake Designs in Buttercream can be fun and easy. This Skull and Cactus Design is great for guys who like to hunt or just a Southwestern Fan. The Skull is built on cake as well as some of the Cactus.

I used only 3 Decorating Tips for this Design. A coupler, a Quick Icing Tip and a #124 Rose Tip. So nothing special needed.

Inside Out Movie- Anger Character Cake- Cake Decorating- Video

Cake Sculptor  Leah Larson Designed this adorable 3D Sculpted Cake. He is about 10  1/2 inches tall including his flames. He' constructed of a 1/4 sheet cake divided 4 times and stacked. The flames are made of White Chocolate.  He is iced in Butter Cream.

Leah is trying her best to make the same face and not quite getting there.

She uses her unusual technique of sculpting with the end of a Ziploc baggie, creating a smooth fondant like effect in Butter Cream Icing.

Veggie Basket in Scultped Buttercream- by Leah

Leah created this masterpiece for a client that brought her a photo of a similar cake in Fondant. Leah Sculpted each of these vegetables in Buttercream as well as used piping techniques for the Lettuce and the Broccoli. The Client was thrilled. The Cake was for a man who only eats vegetables, his wife decided that everyone else would want cake and so had a "Vegetable" cake made for him :)

Piped Pumpkin Head Tutorial

Pretty Pumpkin head is a fun to make Holiday cake. She is made of three 8" layers and two marshmallows for the stem. The leaves are made with a #124 rose tip and the eyes with a coupler opening. I used piping gel for the black accents. This can be altered for a boy by leaving off the eyelashes and lips.
By leaving off the face all together and adding fall colored mums around the stems, you have a beautiful center piece for an Autumn feast.
