Dipped Strawberry Box Cake- Cake Decorating

I wish this blog had Smell-a-vision! This cake smells amazing! With the dark chocolate dipped strawberries and chocolate icing it's irresistible! It's also incredibly beautiful for a small stacked cake. It's perfect for a small Wedding Cake or sweet Birthday Cake as well. The biggest problem with making this design is having the will power not to eat the strawberries before they are placed on the cake!

Frozen Themed Stacked Cake with Crown- Cake Decorating

A small stacked cake can have a big impact! This cake is an 8", 6" and 3". Even though it's small it is fully doweled and supported. It's a fun way to have the look of a stacked cake without the size. The trick is the 3" top tier. It's essentially the size of a mega muffin, which could be used here as well. The snowflakes are Candy Melt or White Chocolate, but could easily be done in Royal Icing as well. Tiny Stacked Cakes are the new trend and are fun and easy as long as you know the basic rules of making a stacked cake. In this video I show a review of the basics for stacking and doweling a cake as well as how to create this design.

4th of July Stacked Cake- Cake Decorating-Buttercream

A very small cake can make a big statement when placed on a tall pedestal. This mini stacked cake is made of three single layer cakes split and filled. They are and 8 inch round a 6 inch round and a 3 inch round. This design turns out to be quite versatile. It can be used not only for the 4th of July but for Memorial Day,  Veteran's Day, a returning Serviceman or Woman or even a Patriotic Wedding Cake.
See how to make this design as well as ideas for the pedestal.

A Warning about Brown Icing- Funny- Cake Decorating- Buttercream

A funny warning about how to use brown icing on a cake. Some designs can go very wrong without the right technique or knowledge. This short video shows a moment in my "Cherry Blossom Wedding Cake Video" where I discuss the proper way to use brown icing. Have fun!

Wedding Barbie Doll Cake- Cake Decorating- Buttercream- Video

I wanted to design a Barbie Cake With a Mermaid Style Skirt. It took some time to figure out that I could just decorate the Barbies Body and use a small cake for the ruffled bottom of the skirt. I used Leah's smoothing technique to get a slim smooth dress. There are a million dress designs that want to make! I don't really have any little girls or Bridal showers to make it for and one Bride Barbie Video is enough. so for now I'll just have to dream about them :)
