Holiday Season is a tricky cake season. It's always hard to decide whether or not to make Holiday Designs for non Holiday events during the season.  I think this design is a great option for the months of October and November. This is a small cake that makes a nice center piece for a dinner party, or is pretty enough for a Holiday Season Birthday. This Cake is made with a" Pumpkin Pie" Cake, so when it's cut, even the aroma says "FALL"

How to Make Spicy Pumpkin Cake From A Yellow Mix- video

Pumpkin Cake is a Fall favorite, but when you add real Pumpkin Pie Spices you've got a real hit! In this video I show how to make these yummy cakes. The ingredients for this project are 1 yellow cake mix or your favorite scratch cake recipe. 1 15 oz can of Pumpkin (puree), be sure it doesn't already have spices. 3 eggs, 1tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp cloves, and the secret ingredient 1/8- 1/4 tsp Mace. The video shows how to get the right consistency and how to fill your pans for the best outcome. Enjoy!

Piped Pumpkin Head Tutorial



Pretty Pumpkin head is a fun to make Holiday cake. She is made of three 8" layers and two marshmallows for the stem. The leaves are made with a #124 rose tip and the eyes with a coupler opening. I used piping gel for the black accents. This can be altered for a boy by leaving off the eyelashes and lips.
By leaving off the face all together and adding fall colored mums around the stems, you have a beautiful center piece for an Autumn feast.
